Relocation Management
"Your experience with moving school libraries was very apparent in your suggestions, your helpful questions and your estimation of time and manpower needed for the actual move."

Pittsford Central School District
Three libraries totaling 55,000 collections were relocated to facilitate renovations within the Pittsford Central School District. Creating an organized relocation plan was the key to a smooth transition for these libraries. We secured the moving company and temporary storage space for the collections. Feedback from these moves was exceptional, leading to the district retaining our services for additional work at Sutherland High School, Caulkins Road Middle School and Barker Middle School. We also assisted with the relocation of the Administrative offices in the summer of 2009.
City of Rochester | Public Safety Building Relocation
The City of Rochester Police Department, Fire Department, and Information Systems were relocated into the newly constructed Public Safety Building over four consecutive weekends. Multiple departments, many with operational interdependencies, made up the 400 personnel that were moved. Complex in nature, there were several sensitive aspects to the project, which included the relocation of furniture, contents, evidence, criminal records, weapons, equipment, and supplies. The feedback on our services was outstanding, which lead the police department to retain Vargas Associates, Inc. to drive relocation efforts that followed soon after.

Water and Lighting Bureau
Successfully managing this relocation of the City Of Rochester’s DES Water & Lighting Bureau involved an intense effort to cover the endless details to support this unique client. The project schedule required extensive planning and consideration for all departments especially for the dispatch unit which operates 24/7, handling emergency calls throughout Monroe County. This was a two-phase initiative. A temporary move was required to support the operations during the construction of their new building. This relocation required coordination with data and telecom suppliers to establish a short term network, which was a critical path item that drove the project schedule. Due to the nature of the client, extra attention was placed on details such as adequate destruction of purged documents to ensure client information was properly disposed of. The relocation of existing furniture, equipment, phones, and records was coordinated. We then managed the return of the Water and Lighting Bureau into their newly constructed building upon its completion.
